How is the order decided?
It is our editorial judgement for that specific requirement, not a calculation. A kit that wins on price can be last on organic. We do not sort by price, because that would replace the judgement with a number.
Why is the top pick not always the cheapest?
Because price is only one of the things a category is about. In the budget category price leads; in organic or family the menu, sourcing and portion sizes decide.
How often is the order updated?
Rankings come from our own tests of the six major US services and are updated continuously. Prices were read from the providers' own sites in August 2026.
